Sprint 6:
For this sprint my tasks were simple, but then turned complicated. First, one of my tasks was to create another level for the game that would include most of the game mechanics that have already been introduced. while doing that task i have received word that the adv bumper level that was created needed some edits and a redesign due to it being difficult. After those tasks were done, I was to work on the game textures for this game. At this task is where I received some trouble and I had proposed some ideas for textures. The theme of the textures was to be retro arcade or sci-fi. Finally, the last task that came up, which was sudden, was to create a poster and a poster and featured graphic and since I was told and saw a due date that this was supposed to be done a day before and this is the design I came up with.
Problems that occurred during this sprint was that there was a lot of problems on the textures for this game. Most textures either hurt the eyes or looked bad in the game. One think about making this texture is that it has to be tileable for all the walls since the way our team made the levels did not make it easy to make custom textures. Now being restricted to making tileable materials it has to work in all directions for the walls and in a single direction for the floor to make it look good. However, the designed I make did not look pleasing during gameplay and some even hurt the eyes. At the end of this sprint no texture was established to the game. One last problem we all had during this sprint is that the poster and featured graphic was thought to be due the 30th of November since the due date that we saw was on that date. these to assets came up and with having no texture selected I had to rush and make these assets with the original colors of our current game at that time.
Sprint 7:
During this final sprint some changes had to be made for the game textures. From our initial texture from the last sprint, I decide to go sore simplistic in design and made a final proposed texture for our game with the current theme, retro sci-fi arcade. I decided to make it look like a Tron and retro game theme with the colors and design. However, certain group ideas clashed, and we decided on a new style. We agreed on a checkered floor with very light colors (which I made) and a solid color for the walls which Sky made. now with this new texture in place now I needed to update the poster and feature graphic with the current textures. My final task that was done was to make a menu background for our main menu with some other assets included. One task that is currently In Progress is to make the powered objects have a different texture.
Problem that happened in this sprint had to do with only the textures. I created a final texture with the previous theme of sci-fi retro. It was a Tron looking design. However, my design needed some other assets to change color for this to work good in my eyes. However, the team had some disagreements with this final design, and they were not a fan of this design. at that point I suggested we change the theme or style idea of textures, and they came up with some ideas that were not our original theme. One was the floor which was suggested by Micah of having a checkered tile floor with light colors. I went with that idea and created that material. Since this tile looks like a kitchen or home design, I tried to search up design that would work well with the floor. However, most wall detailed designs I have created looked bad in game, and some that I have come a crossed on did not look well tileable. With having that problem Sky stated that due to the time we have we will make it a solid color that matches the floor. and he picked a nice blue color.
